Ryan grew up in a farm community in south-central Kansas. He had his college and graduate education in Chicago at Moody Bible Institute and Wheaton Graduate School, respectively. It was while living in Chicago and going to school for several years that he met his wife, Kristine. They moved to Storm Lake just after getting married, and have served at First Baptist for the past 8 plus years, while enjoying the privilege of life together. They have two little girls, which the LORD has blessed them with, and a dog. Ryan enjoys fostering spiritual formation, discussing the intersection of faith and culture, watching and playing sports, enjoying the outdoors, and other pursuits of leisure for God’s glory.

A farm kid at heart, I teach English Language Learners at Storm Lake High School and love interacting with students from various cultures.

In college I was involved with InterVarsity and CRU. Since then, I have served on staff with CRU and have been an active member in the local churches within the communities in which I have lived. Through those experiences, I came to love discipleship and being a part of the gospel taken to my community and the nations.

My wife Natalie and our two young children love calling Storm Lake our home. We have made wonderful friendships and enjoy being a part of such a diverse community. First Baptist is a great family of believers that encourage us and we love serving alongside them.
